Karen Or, Operation Manager

Karen has over 18 years of experience in financial services, with the last 10 years focused on investment research and business operations.  Prior to joining Metta Capital, Karen was a Manager at Primco International Investments Limited. She joined Primco in September 2003, and was responsible for advising clients on their investment portfolios and overseeing the business operations. She reported directly to the director and assisted her in every aspect of the supervision and management functions. She has a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of New South Wales and received her Bachelor in Science and Bachelor in Commerce from the University of Auckland.

Janie Chen, Founder & Non-Executive Director

Janie has over 25 years of experience in financial services, with 20 years focused on the alternative investments industry.  Until April 2013, Janie was a Principal of Partners Capital Investment Group.  She joined Partners Capital in January 2008, and was responsible for advising high net worth families, foundations, and endowments on asset allocation, manager selection, and portfolio implementation.  Prior to Partners Capital, she worked at London based funds-of-funds, Stonehage and EIM, and prior to that at JP Morgan Partners and PwC in New York.  Janie has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor in Science, Summa Cum Laude, from the Ohio State University.  She formerly held the CFA & CAIA designations and was a CPA in the USA.  

Vivian Kwok, Founder

Vivian has over 33 years of experience in finance, with the last 20+ years dedicated to research and portfolio construction of Asian hedge funds. Prior to founding Metta, Vivian was a Senior Research Associate at Wocom Investment Management, where she advised Investor Select Advisors, a global fund of funds. Vivian started her career for Banque Nationale de Paris in 1989 and subsequently joined Sassoon Securities Hong Kong, where she became the Head of Equity Research. Subsequently, Vivian consulted for the Hong Kong SFC and for a closed-end Asia equity fund. Vivian has a Master’s degree in Inorganic Chemistry from University of San Francisco and a BA in Chemistry from Mills College.
